Strong motivated by the honest belief that women can contribute a lot in the development of society given the chance to harness their potencial for the leadership in and out or their homes, in 1958, Dr. Severina Luna Orosa, as well -known Filipino physician, indefatigable civic worker and staunch nationalist thought of organizating her women friends into a socio-civic organization known as the KABABAIHANG RIZALISTA, INC.,had this incorporated at securities and exchange Commission on April 29, 1959. Starting as a small group of twenty women, (Charter members: 2 Life members an 18 regular members) th organization was officially recognized by the Order of the Knights of Rizal, a patriotic organization of men led by Sir Sixto Y. Orosa, KGCR, who fully subscribed to and ardently supported the propagationog the ideals, teachings and writings of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, and which on September 27, 1958, allowed the holding of the first national convention of the newly formed organization.

During that convention, Dr. Encarnacion Alzona, an educator, was elected first president of the organization. Dr. Orosa, the founder, became its second president.

From the small group or twenty women, the organization expanded into a big goup opening its chater not only in the philippinesbut in other parts of the world like Canada , Hongkong, the United States and Europe.

Since 1958, up to the present the KABABAIHANG RIZALISTA continues to work in harmonious alliance with the ORDER OF THE KNIGHTS OF RIZAL, in venerating the memories of the national hero and in propagating his ideals, teachings and virtues, and remains a civic, patriotic, cultural, non-sectarian, non-partisan, non-racial organization and non-profit organization.
